Our Courses

ERGT works with several industry regulators, authorities and training organisations to provide relevant, high quality training. These organisations include Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO), Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).


We deliver over 80 accredited programs from seven training centres, helping make people and workplaces safer.


ERGT courses are a mixture of practical and theory content that develop trainees skills and knowledge relevant to the area of training. Within the five training streams offered by ERGT Australia are courses ranging from induction programs for new entrants to the industry through to advanced and refresher units for the more experienced.

Our Streams

Maritime Safety

Available:  Perth & Melbourne

Courses in this stream service Seafarers working on board vessels in Australian waters who must hold and maintain certain certificates under the STCW Convention and 2010 Manila amendments. ERGT’s ability to uphold the highest standards in safety & emergency training in Oil & Gas industries for over 21 years has been transferred to the Maritime industry. This experience enables ERGT to efficiently deliver safe & engaging training that reflects industry practices. A sign of these high standards include the approval AMSA has given to a number of applicable courses.

Core Safety

The courses in this stream encompass a range of courses designed for personnel entering hazardous industries. Trainees are given lots of coaching & support. The core skills trainees gain at ERGT from these courses helps to equip them for living & working safely into the future and provides a solid foundation for future development.

These courses support workplace skills & trades for individuals & teams working in high risk environments. Each applied safety program is delivered in a simulated high risk environment to enhance the transference of skills to the workplace. Courses can be customised to meet the specific needs of any organisation or project.

Incident Response

Personnel build on core understandings to develop specialist skills in employing preventative measures & effectively respond to an incidents. Our trainers encourage decision-making, communication & teamwork skills through direction, instruction & post-exercise debrief. All incident response courses are delivered in a simulated industrial environment.

Safety Leadership Icon

Safety Leadership

Available: Perth, Melbourne & Darwin
These high level courses develop & assess the skills required of industry leaders who are responsible for teams & individuals working in high-risk environments.

The Safe Supervisor Competency Program has been designed by industry to help improve the safety behaviours of supervisors working in the offshore oil & gas environment. The Industry Management Group (IMG) has established five modules deemed to be the minimum standard for supervisors. ERGT Australia has developed a training program to meet these outcomes which has been approved by the IMG.

Incident Management

Available: Perth, Melbourne & Darwin
Incident Management courses provide facility and business managers and their teams with the skills and tools to manage significant industrial emergencies. Courses are delivered in a customised, simulated workplace environment with a large practical component focusing on both individual and team roles and their functions during an incident. All courses are underpinned by national or international competency standards.
NOTE: Incident Management courses are not available to individuals.
