Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX)

TEEX provides on-site and online resources for specialties from homeland security to economic development and workforce training. The major TEEX programs include fire and rescue, infrastructure and safety, law enforcement, economic and workforce development, and homeland security. As a member of The Texas A&M University System, TEEX is unique in its ability to access a broad range of emerging research and technical expertise. ERGT collaborates with TEEX to deliver our Respond to Cryogenic Emergencies and Hazardous Materials Incident Response courses.


Welltrain specialises in the design and delivery of operationally relevant courses to all levels of personnel involved in onshore and offshore drilling operations the oil and gas industry from awareness to specialist performance training. Welltrain expects to deliver training to over 1000 people worldwide annually via our two permanent accredited training venues in Western Australia and Queensland. Welltrain’s Perth Training Centre and office are based at ERGT Australia’s Jandakot Training Centre.

Australasian Training Company (ATC)

The ATC is a leader in training and education services to industry, individuals and communities throughout the world. Founded by a team of experienced training and education professionals from the Australian and Asian vocational education and training (VET) sector, our goal is to provide sustainable futures through connected and equitable learning opportunities. The ATC’s headquarters are based in Western Australia, at The Oil & Gas Training Centre Perth.

Radiation Professionals

Established in 2007, Radiation Professionals is a holistic radiation management service provider to the oil, gas, mining and mineral resource industries. Their expertise is in ionising radiation management solutions, from dealing with issues surrounding Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) as a process by-product, to specialist equipment such as isotopic pig tracking devices within pipelines, to tailored training packages to address competency requirements within the workplace. A Collaborative Agreement has been reached between ERGT Australia and Radiation Professional whereby Radiation Professionals deliver specialised training (PPSPRAD001 Work safely in a radiation environment) using ERGT as the RTO. ERGT will provide advice on training and assessment, quality assure the assessment and issue any certification attained on behalf of Radiation Professionals.

University of Western Australia - Centre for Safety

In 2010, ERGT Australia and researchers at The University of Western Australia’s (UWA) Centre for Safety (C4S) embarked on a long-term partnership to support the development of relevant and effective safety skills, and behavioural research and education. In 2015, ERGT Australia and the C4S became official partners and a reflection of the commitment to improving research and industry practices. The collaboration has resulted in many successful research projects which have increased our knowledge about the best ways to manage and improve safety in the high risk environments posed by the oil and gas industry.

Australian Qualifications Framework: Australian Skills Quality Authority

As the national government regulator for the vocational education and training (VET) sector, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) seeks to make sure that the sector's quality is maintained through the effective regulation.
ERGT Australia (RTO 2534) is an approved delegate of the Australian Skills Quality Authority; a high-performing RTOs which is given the ability to manage our own scope of registration. Please see here for more information.


OPITO is a not for profit industry owned organisation, which works with employers and employee groups to set and monitor training and competence standards for the global offshore Oil & Gas Industry.
ERGT works with OPITO to ensure that the delivery of a range of our offshore survival and incident management programs meet the required industry standards throughout our 3 OPITO approved training centres.

Australian Maritime Safety Authority

As a modern regulator and a Corporate Commonwealth Entity subject to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) places considerable emphasis on strong, contemporary governance arrangements. We work to forge a clear link between government and AMSA Board priorities, our vision and budget objectives, and the work undertaken by teams and individuals.
AMSA has endorsed a range of ERGT's emergency response and offshore survival courses which are upheld to AMSA's high standards.

International Maritime Organisation: International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978

International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 was adopted on 7 July 1978 and entered into force on 28 April 1984. The main purpose of the Convention is to promote safety of life and property at sea and the protection of the marine environment by establishing in common agreement international standards of training, certification and watchkeeping for seafarers.

For maritime training institutes worldwide, IMO has also developed a series of model courses which provide suggested syllabi, course timetables and learning objectives to assist instructors develop training programmes to meet the STCW Convention standards for seafarers. By providing these model courses ERGT enables our trainees to gain industry relevant and recognised certifications.

Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association

APPEA works with the Australian government to help promote the development of the nation’s oil and gas resources, secure regulatory and commercial conditions and increase community and government understanding of the upstream petroleum industry. APPEA also hosts conferences each year to exchange ideas and contribute to developing the industry’s policy positions. ERGT is an Associate Member of APPEA and as such benefit from APPEA’s advocacy work, access to specialist expertise, networking opportunities and recognition by full members of an associate member’s commitment to the industry.

Common Safety Training Program (CSTP) is an industry initiative administered by APPEA. This initiative has recently become an industry mandate, as is the requirement for TBOSIET / BOSIET. As of the 1st of January 2012, Australia’s Oil and Gas industry adopted CSTP as a core foundation of safety skills in the workplace. The aim is to ensure all personnel working in the Oil and Gas industry in Australia to have been assessed as competent against defined core safety units.
